As the winter months roll in, Jacob and Team JBR have decided to draw the season to a close with a possibility of one final race in November. After thirty-two starts in the #20b 21 Drive-In/Carpet Gallery/JBR/GRT by Frye Crate Late Model, Jacob saw his very first feature victory (West Plains - August 22) along with eighteen top five and twenty-eight top ten finishes. Team JBR also managed to pick up two top five points championships, finishing third at West Plains Motor Speedway and fourth at Malden Speedway. To compliment his early success in a Late Model, Jacob placed forty-fourth in the FASTRAK Racing Series 2009 City Chevrolet National Weekly Championship among 212 other teams nation-wide.
Jacob says he is really pleased with the progress he has made during his first full year in a Late Model. Jacob and Team JBR would like to thank all of their 2009 sponsors for their support, along with everyone that helped them out this year. You definitely made our first year in the Late Model class a memorable one, and we look forward to entertaining you and the fans for years to come. |

The following night, Jacob placed fifth in the last of three heats to start fifteenth in the main event. Jacob was nose-to-tail with the sixth and seventh place cars whenever a caution came out. He was then unsuccessful at catching them again, finishing the race eighth. Jacob ventured to West Plains Motor Speedway the next night. He drew a ten, giving him the pole in the only heat of the seven-car field. Jake the Snake led the entire race to grab the checkered flag and take a victory. After the top four was inverted in the feature, he had to start the race in the fourth position. The race went caution free for twenty laps. Jacob and the third place car stayed side by side throughout the race until Jacob was able to inch by him on lap nineteen to finish in the third position. Since them, Jacob has moved up to twelfth in the FASTRAK National Points Standings. If not for problems earlier on in the season, he would be sitting higher.

After a four hour drive, Jacob finally made it to West Plains to draw a twenty-four and, once again, start last and finish fourth in the first heat.
